What You'll Do

Epic Games is searching for a Rendering Features Programmer to help enhance and maintain the graphics of Unreal Engine. You will work directly with some of the brightest technical minds in the industry as we build the premier real-time rendering engine for multiple platforms.

In this role, you will
• Help us raise the final visual fidelity of graphics in Unreal through a combination of novel new graphics techniques and improvements to existing techniques
• Be responsible for the performance of features on multiple platforms
• Drive tools that go along with features and ensure they are usable and appropriate for artists and the engine across games and film
• Help supporting external clients identifying areas for improvement and designing/implementing solutions
• Be forward-thinking to keep up to date on current techniques, research, graphics data, hardware, etc

What we're looking for
• Strong C++ knowledge and multi-threaded programming techniques; ability to code and architect various core engine systems
• Thorough knowledge and proficient application of 3D math, rendering algorithms, and data structures
• Deep knowledge of HLSL and at least one modern API ( DirectX12, Vulkan, Metal, etc)
• Experience on commercially released video games or software for the games industry or for the computer graphics industry
• Experience with game engines and tools: Visual Studio, Perforce, Nvidia Nsight, Intel VTune, AMD Razor, PIX.
• Strong communication and proficiency in working with technical artists to develop and iterate on features/tools
• User-focused, scrappy and innovative people. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do

This role is open to multiple locations (including WA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

Washington Base Pay Range

$173,412 - $254,338 USD
