What We Do

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

In the Game Operations space, as a QA Lead, you will join our release team that uses a combination of quality management, data analysis, and technical skills to drive and improve testing process, risk analysis and quality evaluations related to the overall release health and release deployment process for Fortnite. This is a 24 hr on-call team to support release deployments after normal business hours if necessary. In this role you'll be responsible for supporting the QA Manager with handling day to day tasking, managing team member growth and collaborating with release stakeholders from multiple disciplines and teams leading quality initiatives that increase the visibility of the health of a given release and increase the confidence of our deployment processes pre-launch.

In this role, you will
• Working with product owners, developers, release managers and QA management to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features / releases
• Reviewing test plans from team members for proper coverage and identifying gaps in documentation
• Present risk assessments for planned deployments
• Managing the execution of our certification testing practices to align with requirements
• Becoming a subject matter expert in our release deployment process in relation to Fortnite
• Provide constructive guidance to QA analysts, engineers, and testers to improve their work performance and career growth
• Develop a plan that solves the week-to-week testing requirements and expectations at a team level, and lead the team to execute against that plan Escalate issues and potential blockers to the QA Manager and other stakeholders

What we're looking for
• 5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience working in software, mobile and/or game development
• Ability to adapt and respond to an ever changing landscape
• Not just a people leader; able and willing to contribute to day-to-day testing/engineering efforts
• Experience working with and testing for multiple platforms; web, modern consoles, PCs and/or mobile devices using Android and/or IOS operating systems
• A deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices, along with different testing phase best practices and objectives (functional, system integration, UAT, performance)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving experience in technical environment
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and execute on strategy in a team environment
• Familiarity and willingness to learn new technical frameworks, concepts, and tools
• Ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Ability to thrive while working in a fast-paced working environment, with the ability to juggle multiple projects Proven track record of successful contributions to the release of high-quality products
