Job Description
Partnerships Associate (Music Licensing)

PUBLISHING
What We Do
We deliver the most innovative gaming experiences possible to players around the world. Whether through community outreach, world-class events, or partnership integrations, the Epic Games Publishing and Marketing teams seek to surprise players with new experiences every time they drop in to play.
What You'll Do
Epic is looking to add a Music Licensing Associate to its growing Partnerships organization who will help with our broad, sweeping music clearances and licensing efforts for Epic's first-party games properties, such as Fortnite Festival and various marketing campaigns. We are looking for someone who is not intimidated by a high volume of music clearances in a fast-paced environment and is always willing to go above and beyond to get the job done– someone who is curious, innovative, and an overall team player who keeps scalability and operational excellence front of mind. This person will already have established relationships within the music industry from a creative and clearance perspective that they can comfortably lean into when an internal brief needs music options or a clearance hits a snag. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly scaling company within the entertainment industry and be a part of expanding Epic's global role in culture.
In this role, you will
• Facilitate a high volume of music clearances while navigating complex rights structures and commercial deal terms that support our overall business priorities and goals
• Help to maintain and continue to improve upon the critical systems and databases that support our music business to ensure all music uses across Epic are properly tracked and accounted for
• Support the music partnerships team with day-to-day operations such as processing invoices, setting up new vendors in our payment system, and organizing reports such as market and player insights into digestible and impactful formats for both the immediate and cross-functional teams
• Respond to creative briefs from internal teams as needed, with the ability to provide a variety of music options at varying price points that will be relevant for both our players as well as for the campaign/product as a whole
• Work closely with our internal audio team on Epic original music efforts to ensure all assets are properly tracked and delivered
• Collaborate and communicate as a key point of contact internally on behalf of the music partnerships team while managing multiple projects at any given time
What we're looking for
• Minimum 3-5 years of music clearance and licensing experience
• Candidates must have superb organizational and communications skills, along with the ability to be proactive, work independently, multitask, and maintain a strong attention to detail, which will include handling several projects with varying components and competing deadlines at once in a measured and nimble manner, with the ability to address shifting priorities and timelines with discretion and confidentiality
• Use of good judgment, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills is essential, especially in stressful situations, with the ability to be solution-oriented and remain calm under pressure
• Ability to pivot quickly at the last minute, maintaining a general sense of flexibility and adaptability along the way
• Familiarity with current music trends and general music supervision experience
• Project management operator who prides themselves on working well internally and externally with different types of personalities
• Some experience with project management tools required, including (and especially) Airtable, Jira, and Trello. At least some combination of expertise across Tableau, Miro, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Slack preferred
• Understanding and/or interest in gaming
