What You'll Do

Epic Games is searching for a Lead Animator to join our team working on Fortnite. A successful candidate should have a great understanding of the fundamentals of animation and how they relate to game animation and the ability to implement animations in the Unreal 4 editor using our animation blueprint system.

In this role, you will
• Create character specific animations such as dances and emotes as well as gameplay animations in Maya using our ART tools set
• Take animation from initial concept through to implementation in Unreal Engine 4 using our animation blueprint system
• Lead a growing team of animators, helping mentor and drive the style and feel of Fortnite's animation

What we're looking for
• You have an animation reel showing key-framed character and creature animations
• Strong experience with Maya and gameplay systems
• Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 4 art pipeline
• Related skills, such as modeling, skinning, rigging
• Experience working with mocap data
• Experience having shipped at least one title

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

New York City Base Pay Range

$143,680 - $210,730 USD

California Base Pay Range

$126,438 - $185,442 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$120,691 - $177,013 USD
