Our team contains experts from fields like tax, treasury, purchasing, FP&A, and more.

What You'll Do

You will work alongside existing members of the International Finance team and partner with them and others within Epic to integrate Epic's newly acquired game studio in Brazil. This will include implementing robust financial reporting processes to enable the complete and accurate financial reporting to the International and US Controllership groups. You will be responsible for the accounting for Epic's operations in Brazil including complying with local requirements. The International Controllership team is responsible for maintaining and driving controllership rigor and discipline and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance internationally. Based in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the role will report into Epic's International Controller, based in London, and will work closely with senior leadership within the wider Epic Group, such as Corporate Tax, US and International Controllership, FP&A, HR and Legal.

In this role, you will
• Be responsible for the complete and accurate reporting of month-end, quarter- end and year- end numbers in accordance with US GAAP.
• Manage a team of four finance professionals and work with our outsourced accountants.
• Work with the Epic Tax Team to ensure tax compliance including direct and indirect taxes.
• Coordinate and participating in tax audits and reviews Inform the Epic Tax Team on various items such as new or unusual transactions, audit status updates, new Brazilian legislation, etc.
• Ensure the Brazilian territory specific regulatory compliance from a finance and tax perspective; including transfer pricing.
• Own the year end reporting for two entities ensuring statutory account preparation and working with the auditors to ensure adherence to filing deadlines Implement and operate key business process controls to ensure that the company has an effective and scalable internal controls framework as a private company.
• Partner with the existing Brazilian Studio leadership team, operations, IT and facilities to ensure that all business transactions are correctly accounted for.
• Partner with cross functional teams to implement a new ERP (Workday) with regional customization and support change management to associated front-end processes.
• Regularly report and present to both International and US management about the overall finances of the entity for the Brazil studio and it's US based wholly owned sub.
• Perform monthly reviews of the balance sheet and income statement with International Controllership.

What we're looking for
• Fluent in both English and Brazilian Portuguese Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, or related field; Preference for chartered Accountancy qualification or equivalent
• 9+ years financial accounting experience, preferably within an International business and accounting environment.
• Solid knowledge of both US GAAP and Brazilian GAAP, including a deep knowledge and understanding of Brazil's tax and legal financial reporting obligations.
• Knowledge of IFRS would be an added skill set but not required.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and proficient with other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience of working in different ERP systems and system migrations.
• Knowledge of international digital sales taxes and transfer pricing requirements.
