Job Title: Senior Director of Events

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department:

Position Summary: The Senior Director of Events will oversee the events department and work in lockstep with group and team sales department. Together these departments are responsible for all aspects of events, tournaments, team training, and hotel events, including prospecting, selling, planning, execution, wrap-up, and renewals. The Director of Events and Director or Special Events will report directly to this position.

Position Responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategic and tactical events plan, focusing on maximizing revenue while minimizing expenses and impact on other lines of business
• Oversee the establishment and management of overall event budgets and maximize profit margins
• Establish and monitor KPIs for the business unit
• Work closely with Sr. Director of Sales and Director of Group and Team Sales on a daily basis
• Ensure product offering is up-to-date and delivery matches the sale
• Develop strategies for utilize consumer feedback in the implementation of events
• Assist with future facility planning, ensuring new facilities meet the needs of events
• Lead the creation of a preferred vendor program for all events and the Academy as a whole
• Build a strong department culture focused on problem solving
• Ensure all owned and 3rd party events are collaborating with sponsorships department
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Ability
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Event Management or related field
• 8+ years of successful event planning, management, and sales
• Sports background
• Experience in event planning and management of youth sports/events
• Ability to establish and follow budgets
• Ability to direct, manage, and supervise
• Highly motivated and able to take initiative
• Ability to work in a fast – paced, dynamic environment meeting multiple deadlines
• Strategic thinker with the ability to learn existing processes and improve them by setting up new procedures
• Exceptionally detailed in work
• Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences
• Strong organizational skills
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of event set up, tear down and execution
• Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
• Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
