The Role and What You'll Do:

The Physical Therapy Manager will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Physical Therapy to provide world-class injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sports medicine services to UFC athletes and other external athlete clientele as required. This junior role will assist in providing care to athletes and promoting the grow of the sports medicine department. They will be responsible for working with the UFCPI interdisciplinary staff to ensure optimal delivery of supplementary performance services to athletes.
• Provision of elite-level physical therapy services; including evaluations, program planning, and treatments that include manual, myofascial, modality, and therapeutic exercise interventions.
• Promote the integration of physical therapy services into an interdisciplinary model of care that includes strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports science, and performance psychology services
• Participate in establishing physical therapy care guidelines and return to play protocols for world-class athletes.
• Participate and assists in the development of support systems to aid in athlete assessment, data collection, and case management.
• Cultivate relationships with athletes, coaches, and gyms to distribute evidence-based relevant information pertaining to athlete health, wellbeing, and physical therapy.
• Participate in on-going training with athletes, coaches, and UFC PI staff members to ensure continued professional development and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
• Perform other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as requested by the Sn. Director of Physical Therapy to establish a world class physical therapy service.
• Support global fight week events. Undertake national and international travel as required.
• Participate in developing and supporting educational sports medicine platforms.
• Assist in day-to-day operations, patient care, scheduling, and clinic upkeep.
• Adhere to our Sports Medicine policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Stay up to date with advances in sports medicine treatments and technologies and incorporate them into the department's practices.
• Foster a positive and supportive work environment for staff and team members, promoting professional development, and addressing any workplace issues that arise.

You Have These (Add Qualifications):
• Post Graduate Degree in Sports Medicine Profession (DPT, DC, ATC).
• 3 years' experience working with professional, high level collegiate/amateur or tactical athletes in an integrated performance environment preferred.
• Current state physical therapy licensure in good standing within the USA. and ability to obtain Nevada state board physical licensure.
• Awareness and proven ability to effectively collaborate with strength & conditioning staff on both prevention, rehabilitation and return to performance efforts.
• Professional experience working with contact sport athletes.
• Understanding of the demands of MMA (i.e. physical, physiology, gender-specific, weight categories, weight management, travel requirements, etc.).
• Understanding of existing evidence-based research, and the implementation of new research areas to enhance the sport, athletes, and coaches.

We'd Love If You Also Have These:
• Credentials focused on sport performance and sport rehab such as SCS, CSCS and ATC are highly preferred.
• Certifications in manual physical therapy and soft tissue/myofascial techniques are highly preferred.
• Professional experience working with combat sport athletes.

Travel:

Ability to travel on a monthly / semi-monthly basis, both domestically and internationally.
