JOB PURPOSE

FC Diez Media is looking for a candidate to assume the role of Event Coordinator to work with the event operations team to assist the event deliverables of the various CONMEBOL Club Competitions within the scope of work FC Diez Media has with the confederation.

As Event Coordinator, the successful candidate will be required to support the event operations team to oversee and work with a pool of venue managers who work at CONMEBOL club competition matches across the continent. These Venue Managers deliver on-site commercial, broadcast services and other related event assets. The successful candidate will support event operations with ticketing and accreditation for match officials, suppliers, teams, host broadcasters, right holders and sponsors.

In addition, he or she will support with logistics and communication of event operations, including working with FC Diez's appointed travel agencies, when necessary. Work will revolve mainly around the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana. However, support to the other competitions such as women's club competitions, youth club competitions and beach soccer club competitions will be required. Support towards the so-called ''single finals'' of the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana may be required from time to time as well.

The successful candidate will work within the Event Operations team and be required to collaborate with the Competitions and Marketing department of CONMEBOL to ensure successful event delivery of each matchday and help create and foster a unique team spirit between the departments and within the organization.

KEY DELIVERABLES (WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR ROLE?)

Plan and coordinate logistics (accommodation, transport) of the event operations team and the team's projects.

Work closely with CONMEBOL and within the Event Operations Team of FC Diez to ensure successful implementation of ticketing and accreditation of specific groups in all matches.

Support the administrative areas of FC Diez with all matches' relevant information from venue teams to monthly generate a respective scope of works of each venue manager.

When required, work closely with venue managers, requesting technical information on stadiums and operational dynamics of the clubs in each country to provide specific operational information to the event operations team based in Asuncion.

Support the event operations team of FC Diez with the systematization of information received from key stakeholders to evaluate the venue teams.

Coordinate with event operations and project manager the work related to venue teams' designations and required communication flow with CONMEBOL. Be responsible for maintaining a backlog of all designations.

If required, work with travel agencies and hotels/hotel chains in CONMEBOL territories to plan travel, negotiate preferred rates and ensure quality service for FC Diez staff and freelance venue managers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

An interest to work in the sports event environment (preferably football) and working knowledge of the CONMEBOL Club Competitions (and ideally other international club football competitions). Previous experience working in a sporting environment preferred.

Desire to work in the commercial, sponsorship and broadcasting environment of major sporting competitions and ideally already possessing some knowledge / experience in this environment.

Fluency (written, spoken, comprehension) in Spanish and in English and ideally with a good command of Portuguese. Able to demonstrate written skills in Spanish (ideally in English and Portuguese as well).

Flexibility to travel within South America.

Calm and pragmatic approach to work but also a quick thinker and quick delivery of responsibilities in a dynamic working environment. Organized approach and methodology. Self-motivated.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to function effectively in stressful and uncertain environments and to adapt to the changing course of responsibilities and requirements.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

Ideally with previous experience working in the professional sports event environment especially as it pertains to events and professional sports in South America.

Calm demeanour and skilful attention to details both in written communication and in working methodology.

Knowledge of sports event management.

Familiarity with key stakeholders (i.e. sponsors, broadcasters, suppliers) in the South American football and general sport environment.
