As a leading talent agency, we surround our clients with category experts to amplify their careers and business endeavors. We're seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Client Publicity to lead high-impact public relations campaigns for our clients.
Position Overview
The Director of Publicity is a senior-level role responsible for setting and executing overarching PR strategies for a marquee roster of clients. This leader will serve as the primary liaison between clients, media, and internal stakeholders-crafting narratives, managing reputations, and maximizing visibility across business, lifestyle, sports, philanthropic, and entertainment platforms.
You'll work closely with agents, managers, and brand teams across WME, leading publicity initiatives while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the agency's broader client marketing services.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of innovative, high-level publicity campaigns for a diverse roster of entertainment and sports clients.
• Serve as the primary PR strategist and spokesperson for key clients-offering media counsel, managing narratives, and identifying major opportunities.
• Cultivate and maintain deep, trusted relationships with top-tier journalists and media outlets across sports, entertainment, lifestyle, and business verticals.
• Oversee press materials and messaging, including media alerts, bios, talking points, and long-lead PR strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with brand partnerships, marketing, social, and communications teams to ensure alignment and integration across platforms.
• Manage crisis communications and provide reputation management strategies when needed.
• Represent WME's PR team in client meetings, internal strategy sessions, and at industry events.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration.
• Stay on top of media trends, sports business developments, and emerging talent/platforms to proactively pitch and place clients in relevant stories.
• Collaborate with external client teams members such as personal publicity agencies, managers, and social media teams to execute cohesive publicity campaigns.
Qualifications
• 7–10+ years of experience in public relations, with a strong focus on entertainment or lifestyle media.
• Proven track record of leading high-profile PR campaigns and securing impactful national and global media coverage.
• Extensive media relationships across key verticals-especially business, entertainment, sports, and lifestyle.
• Strong strategic thinking and storytelling ability; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working directly with talent and handling high-pressure or sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• A deep understanding of the current media landscape and evolving platforms (including digital, social, podcast, and OTT).
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
Why WME?
• Work with a dynamic, top-tier client roster at the intersection of entertainment, culture, and media.
• Be part of a high-performance team where your creativity, leadership, and relationships directly impact client success.
• Enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative culture with opportunities for growth, visibility, and influence.
