Role Summary:
Endeavor Content is seeking a talented and knowledgeable Associate Counsel/Counsel to join its expanding Labor Relations Department. The role will support Endeavor Content's growing production and distribution businesses, providing union and guild-related guidance
on all Endeavor Content film and television productions.
Responsibilities
• Support the SVP, Labor Relations in managing labor relations matters across all Endeavor Content film and television productions.
• Provide day-to-day advice and information regarding the interpretation and application of entertainment industry union and guild agreements in a timely, diligent, and comprehensive manner to Business Affairs, Production, Finance, and other colleagues.
• Provide advice, in conjunction with other practitioners as appropriate, regarding compliance with federal labor laws, ERISA, occupational health and safety rules and regulations, harassment and discrimination laws, and Endeavor Content labor, employment, and other policies, practices, and procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in the Business Affairs, Production, Finance, H.R., Employment, and Legal Departments; union and guild executives and staff; and outside counsel .
• In collaboration with Endeavor Content H.R., in-house employment counsel, and outside counsel as necessary, investigate and manage employee disciplinary matters, harassment and discrimination complaints, and other employment-related claims involving represented employees.
• Handle union, guild, and affiliated benefit plan claims, grievances, arbitrations, and audits.
• Counsel and advise on the development of training programs for union and guild-represented employees.
Basic Qualifications
• J.D. required.
• Admitted to practice or eligible to be Registered In-House Counsel in California.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of entertainment industry union and guild collective bargaining agreements required .
• Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise practical strategies and solutions.
• Ability to provide concise, practical legal advice under tight deadlines.
• Sound judgment regarding tactics; understands and can communicate the pros and cons of different strategies and approaches to union and guild issues and labor relations.
• Highly detail-oriented; thorough, accurate, and precise work product.
• Superior negotiation and drafting skills.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills; effective and tactful communicator .
• Excellent
organizational and time management skills; work well under time constraints; ability to effectively handle multiple competing tasks simultaneously; ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule works effectively.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision, with the balance of understanding of when to report up, and seek and obtain guidance and approval.
• Strong interpersonal and client relations skills; ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels; ability to develop and maintain positive relationships across a highly sophisticated, global company.
