Video Editor
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Video Editor is responsible for collaborating with producers to create and edit bite-sized news content that is informative and engaging. News videos include a mix of voiceover audio, photo/broll coverage, graphics, and music. Must be able to balance all elements and turn around videos lightning fast to ''chase the news'' each day. This position will also work with producers to create and edit original, exclusive celebrity interviews into short-form VOD/segments, as well as pitching in as needed on special edits including Red Carpet Live specials and more.

60% Editing segments (including celebrity interviews, news, sponsored content) for PEOPLE's weekly digital show
30% Editing news content (including coverage, broll, voiceover) for bite-sized VODs
10% Editing elements (including photos, video, audio, graphics) for PEOPLE's Amazon Alexa Flash Briefing, and other duties as assigned.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field (journalism, communication, media studies, etc.) or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum 3-4 years experience in an editing setting where you demonstrated your ability to be a detail-oriented team player, who thrives under tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects and tasks.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong editing ability, including extensive experience using Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Knowledge of how to best format and optimize video content for web, YouTube, and social platforms. Familiarity with Rundown Creator is a plus, but not mandatory. Strong communication skills. Ability to welcome constructive notes/collaboration to make the final product as good as it can be. A passion for pop culture, entertainment news, and who/what the PEOPLE brand covers will be critical.

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $73,100.00 - $93,860.00
