About The Position |
Dotdash Meredith is seeking a passionate and strategic Social Media Strategist to lead the development and execution of innovative, data-driven content across our brand social platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting compelling social copy, curating creative pitches, and collaborating across teams to bring engaging, performance-oriented content to life-especially in image and video-driven content. This role requires a strong mix of creative ideation, cross-functional alignment, and analytical thinking to grow brand awareness, drive purchase intent, and optimize performance. A deep understanding of social trends, platform best practices, and audience behavior is essential to identifying new opportunities and ensuring the brand's voice thrives in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

About The Positions Contributions:

50% Content Strategy & Development
• Brainstorm and develop compelling social media content ideas that resonate with target audiences, drive purchase intent, and reflect brand messaging.
• Curate and pitch content tailored to assigned Dotdash Meredith brand social platforms.
• Write engaging post copy and contribute to the ideation and production of short-form and social-first video content.
20% Strategic Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including editorial, branded content, and commerce teams, to ensure social content aligns with broader brand strategy and best practices.
• Integrate audience insights, industry trends, and platform-specific strategies into creative planning and content pitches.
15% Data Analysis & Optimization
• Analyze social media performance data, revenue impact, and emerging platform trends to inform content strategies.
• Translate insights into actionable recommendations that enhance brand awareness and revenue growth.
10% Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
• Prepare and present detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports outlining key social media metrics and performance drivers.
• Communicate findings and optimizations clearly to both brand-side and transactional team leadership.
5% Trend Monitoring & Innovation
• Stay informed on social platform updates, emerging content formats, and consumer behavior trends to identify new opportunities for growth and engagement.
The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

Experience:
Required:
• 2+ years of experience in social media content creation and social media marketing.
• Proven track record of ideating, pitching, planning and executing social media content across platforms-Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and advanced email marketing tools.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with brand, creative and operational teams to deliver high-quality content at scale.
Preferred:
• Experience with UGC platforms like Reddit.
• Experience working with social media creators and influencers.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
• Experience with social media publishing and analytics tools-Dash Hudson, True Anthem, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Salary: New York: $64,350.00 - $70,000.00 California: $68,640.00 - $70,000.00
