Lead AV Systems Engineering & Support

The Audio-Visual Lead Engineer's prime function is to provide design, installation and support for digital signage, audio and video conferencing, conference room meetings and live events for Dotdash Meredith. The Lead Engineer will have a high degree of exposure, partnering exclusively with our events coordinator, executive management, as well as, a broad range of Dotdash Meredith employees, external clients and vendors.

The position requires a high level of professionalism, the ability to manage challenging and high-pressure situations, and to be accountable to all stakeholders for their delivery.

About Your Contributions:
• Develop team roadmap and A/V strategy
• Define and train AV event technicians on equipment and procedures
• Participate in defining company processes, procedures, and best practices related to video systems and solutions engineering
• Coordinate 3rd party support for large events when additional resources are needed
• Coordinate repair of AV equipment as needed
• Assist with the delivery, installation, operation, and retrieval of audio/visual equipment for daily meetings and conference core events in the NYC office in accordance with the daily conference room schedule and high/urgent priority requests
• Install, support and maintain the digital signage infrastructure
• Operation of the audio/visual systems integrated with video conferencing, phone conferencing, projection, audio/video recording and playback
• Partner with our events coordinator to support audio/visual events held at Dotdash Meredith locations, which may include interaction with external clients, vendors, management, and other facility support staff
• Operation of video cameras and other control room equipment including wireless microphones and video switchers to record and live stream programs and events; file conversions, media uploading and archiving as well as creating and maintaining system documentation
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving A/V equipment and connectivity issues, both scheduled and ad-hoc in-room issues
• Assist with the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and cabling related to video conferencing and audio/visual services
• Assist with End User Training on room equipment best practices
• Assist in maintaining a thorough inventory of A/V equipment and supplies
• Monitoring the repair and replacement of non-working, damaged, and/or obsolete equipment and cabling
• Change management and retrospective advocate
• Owns vendor relationships
• Travel for work related projects

About You:
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, communication, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to set up, interconnect, and operate digital signage and audio/visual equipment, including:
• Digital signage players and servers
• Video conference equipment
• IPTV systems
• LCD projectors and screens
• Broadcast video cameras
• Video switchers
• Streaming encoders
• Video encoding software and hardware
• Computers (Mac and PC)
• Audio mixers
• Wireless microphones
• Public-address systems
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Digital Media or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in corporate AV/Support role. Experience with SpinetiX and a CTS certification are preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay Range
Salary: $91,000 - $130,000
