SVP, Post Production (Disney Branded Television)
Disney Branded Television is dedicated to Kids and Family. The content is exhibited on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+. The Post-Production team for DBT oversees post-production for all TV content produced as originals, partnered with siblings and from 3rd parties. The Post-Production team partners closely with DBT Production, Creative, Business Affairs, Legal, Finance, Labor and Casting teams as well as with the third party creators, productions and vendors. Reporting to the EVP Production, the SVP of Post Production will lead the post production team. The team will be set in pods to partner with Series, Movies, Unscripted, Shortform and Acquisitions.
Oversight of the team includes servicing assets to the creative/S+P/legal for notes, marketing needs and finally for broadcast. The external responsibilities include supervising the freelance show post production associate producers, editors, visual efx producers/supervisors for original pilots, series and movies.
On the 3rd party content, the duties include supporting the external production company with meeting DBT goals and expectations. The overall objective of the team led by the SVP Post Production is to evaluate the Script, Budget and Schedule of episodes, and ensure delivery within those timelines and budgetary parameters.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee Post-Production department for Disney Branded Television, which produces or supervises about 50 live action shows per year for Disney Channel, Disney Jr, Disney+. There is also a large volume of Shortform interstitials and marketing post production to support.
• Provide direction and oversight to team members who determine post production requirements for each project in terms of visual effects, sound, picture, staffing and overall workflow.
• Lead Post-Production executives in developing and monitoring post production budgets and schedules, and preparing various scenarios for how to approach the work on each project.
• Act as point of escalation for team members when there are potential financial, creative or deadline problems for their projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with producers, directors and production companies to ensure a steady flow of communication and timely turnaround of deliverables.
• Represent DBT and the Post-Production function in internal meetings and taskforces across DGE. And creating synergies with DBT's internal Televison Animation post team.
• Collaborate with other WDT departments such as Production, Creative, Standards & Practices, Finance, Legal, Business Affairs, and Labor Relations.
• Develop a diverse staff internally and externally inline with our DEI requirements. Grow the team to keep staff members challenged and moving the business forward.
• Lead the technology evolution for kid/family content.
Basic Qualifications:
• A proven leader in setting direction and achieving objectives in relation to management of Post Production process
• 15 plus years of production or post production department leadership experience , with deep knowledge of post-production
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Experience working as a post producer on high-end shows and films and/or experience working as an executive over seeing multiple projects from a studio perspective
• Extensive Visual effects experience is a must.
• Ability to resolve conflict and bring teams to consensus to achieve shared goals
• A Team Player willing to dive into the weeds
