Job Description
This Senior Counsel role reports to the Vice President, Labor Relations and will support Disney Entertainment Television productions and operations throughout the United States, Canada and abroad (which includes 20th Television, FX, Disney Branded Television, Nat Geo and others).
What You Will Do:
• Investigating, handling and resolving grievances brought by unions and guilds.
• Represent the company in labor arbitrations and NLRB proceedings.
• Advise production, broadcast and other operations on NLRA matters.
• Advise production, finance, distribution, publicity/marketing, creative, and business/legal affairs colleagues on the application of collective bargaining agreements, devising and recommending problem solving solutions.
• Assisting in the negotiation of both single and multi-employer collective bargaining agreements including developing negotiation strategies and preparing proposals for negotiations.
• Monitoring implementation of negotiated contract terms (for example concerning wages, hours, and working conditions) to ensure compliance with terms of labor agreements.
• Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with the various industry labor organizations while effectively representing the company.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in litigation, arbitration, NLRB and labor relations matters.
• A strategic thought partner with strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive working relationships with clients and colleagues, including all levels of management, unions and guilds.
• Ability to work well as a member of the labor relations team as well as ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work variable hours and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience handling arbitrations and/or other litigation matters.
• Experience working in entertainment and/or broadcast industry and interactions with industry unions and guilds.

Education:
• JD degree
• Current State Bar membership. California Bar membership preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $165,900.00 to $222,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
