The role of Lucasfilm social and digital is to be the central hub and resident experts in the Lucasfilm portfolio of brands from the digital perspective. We are the first-line of defense regarding content ideas, brand strategy, and content creation and partnership on behalf of Lucasfilm and DMED. Our team is comprised of 3 key groups focusing on Strategy & Planning (Social & Editorial), Content (Digital Content), and Platform Operations (Program Management). This department is the foundational social & digital infrastructure responsible for programming, analyzing, maintaining, publishing, producing and ultimately growing audiences across all digital platforms for Lucasfilm, Star Wars, and their respective franchises/businesses. We support an evolving multiplatform and multi-vertical franchise business with tentpole events throughout the year.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager, Digital Operations is primarily responsible for project management, and project management processes and operations for the Star Wars & Lucasfilm digital presence, within the Program Management & Operations group. This position supports the franchises' ongoing digital projects and special projects. The Sr Project Manager will work with stakeholders and business operations leaders across the Lucasfilm Social & Digital team, DMED, Disney and Lucasfilm to drive projects for the websites/app, marketing initiatives and project operations from the definition phase through completion to post launch/maintenance.

This role may possibly have 1 direct report.

Responsibilities:
• The Project Manager, Digital Operations will develop detailed project schedules that ensure Leadership, Social & Editorial Strategy, Digital Content & Program Management are aligned, aware of important project milestones, updates to timelines and escalating issues.
• Create and maintain project processes, facilitate team meetings, tracking action items and take key meeting notes
• Maintain central department repository for process & asset documentation
• Manage and guide projects for websites including Lucasfilm.com, StarWarsKids.com and StarWars.com, social platforms, accessibility, and compliance.
• Build relationships with and manage stakeholders across business, Product, technology and operations across Lucasfilm and TWDC internally and with external partners
• Partner with Social & Editorial Strategy and Sr. Manager, Program Management to initiate, open and innovate projects in internal project tools software.
• Guide & manage projects from beginning to end as the ''go-to'' person on project progression and status, and ensure projects are updated in the team workflow tools as milestones are met or to adapt to schedule changes.
• Lead weekly status meetings with primary teams to ensure everyone is aware of where projects are in the life cycle and the status on near-term and long-term deliverables.
• Call out scheduling, resource or other issues well in advance and bring solutions for addressing them while ensuring the team and impacted partners are aware of timing effects on the requested changes.
• Liaise with & coordinate with Program Management, Social & Editorial Strategy & Digital Content teams to ensure projects flow through all stages of the project pipeline.
• Liaise between Account, Creative and Business Affairs & legal & all pertinent parties to ensure all work is being vetted at the appropriate stages.
• Gather project information across teams and post-mortems to develop strategic, impactful presentations to capture accomplishments
• Establish entrepreneurial mindset and lead projects, working with a healthy level of autonomy.

Project Planning & Management:
• Develop detailed project schedules that ensure Leadership, Social & Editorial Strategy, Digital Content & Program Management & Operations are aligned, aware of important project milestones, updates to timelines and escalating issues
• Manage the execution of social and digital strategy and platform guidelines in partnership within the team and within the wider Lucasfilm and TWDC organizations
• Manage monitoring and reporting platform updates, bugs, or changes that affect day-to-day execution or overall project or program management for StarWars.com and Lucasfilm.com and associated properties
• Build and foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
• Perform ad hoc updates or additions based on website and platform needs

Platform Management & Maintenance:
• Manage the execution of social and digital strategy and platform guidelines in partnership with LFL Online team
• Includes Star Wars and Lucasfilm platform optimization projects for web presences such as the websites, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Giphy, and Youtube; including any additional emerging platforms
• Overseeing updates of best practice repositories, style guides, process documentation, etc.
• Assist with social & editorial uploads and optimizations as needed, making sure pages are up-to-date with current Tentpole campaigns, Evergreen Brand, and Synergy/Partnership calendar beats
• Provide insight across all Star Wars Online and assist with timing and scheduling.

Site & Department Analytics:
• Manage tracking reports of Evergreen Brand site & social content and making optimization based on insights;
• Actively compiles site & social analytics and reporting to drive actionable optimization for audience, content, and platform strategies
• Work closely with Social & Digital Marketing leadership to monitor reporting, and email community discussion and social health. Flag any important updates or concerning trends. Provide timely updates on concerning posts involving talent and crew using weekly reporting dashboard
• Key collaborator on day-to-day monitoring and moderation of all Star Wars & Lucasfilm web, app and social media channels to communicate insights across the team and with executives

Department Optimization & Processes:
• Gather project information across teams and post-mortems to develop strategic, impactful presentations to capture accomplishments
• Manage documentation of incremental workload & resources needed to pre-empt any bandwidth concerns, providing real-time updates on impact to Sr. Manager, Program Management
• Frame and provide input into project team meetings, set agendas, and provide strategic recommendations to drive growth and address complex situations.
• Manage communication of regular professional development check-ins with direct reports; identify areas of growth at outset of year and hold monthly and mid-year check-ins on progress
