Multiplatform Scheduling Specialist (Disney Branded Television)
The Disney Branded Television Multiplatform Scheduling Specialist is responsible for inputting, maintaining, and communicating the Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD multiplatform programming schedules across all platforms. This includes the accurate creation of schedules and metadata, ordering and distribution of art and all other duties related to TVE, VOD and other nonlinear platforms. The Scheduling Specialist will recommend content plans and schedule updates and communicate all information and changes to key internal departments (i.e., Linear Scheduling, Ad Sales, Broadcast Operations, Business Operations, Nonlinear Distribution, Affiliate, Marketing, Franchise, Current Series, TVA, Legal, Media Relations, Disney+, Hulu) and various external partners. The position requires an understanding of content scheduling, nonlinear platforms, and interest in children's entertainment.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
• Create, update, and maintain Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD long form and short form video schedules across all current and future digital platforms including, TVE, VOD, YouTube and SVOD platforms. This includes ordering and distribution of digital platform art.
• Manage the entry and upkeep of all schedules and pertinent metadata through our nonlinear scheduling system and distribute information to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Identify, create and route change memos as necessary to reflect programming shifts and video delivery inaccuracies.
• Source, create and cutdown descriptive series, season and episode metadata and confirm distribution rights and licensing windows.
• Provide scheduling information and support to our direct-to-consumer partners (Disney+, Hulu) and plan and distribute scheduling information related to the Home Entertainment distribution of all Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD US content.
• Liaise with the research team to monitor performance of our content across the multi-platform landscape and utilize that information to inform future strategies.
• Coordinate with Affiliate Sales & Marketing to schedule any video content needed for specific affiliate campaigns.
• Be responsible for the auditing and maintenance of content on various platforms post-launch.
• Update department documentation (windowing plans, presentations, competitive) as needed.
• As required, provide support for the wider Disney Branded Television Programming department including cross training to support other channels and platforms and assisting on ad hoc projects.
• Represent Disney Branded Television Programming in departmental meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in video content planning, programming, or scheduling related field
• Familiarity with audience engagement strategies
• Creative and strategic thinker who can solve complex problems and identify creative solutions
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workflow and work well in a fast-paced environment
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
• Ability to build and manage relationships
• Ability to learn new systems quickly, and work independently
• Demonstrated experience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Google Docs, Power Point, Keynote
• Knowledge of the following systems a plus: M360, Bebanjo, SIMS, Mediator, Mediahub, Tableau, Adobe Analytics
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Interest in children's programming
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably with a media/marketing focus
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $56,400 to $77,550 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
