Manager, Social Media (Freeform)

Disney's Freeform team is seeking a Manager of Social. The position will lead efforts in shaping original Series social strategies, ideation, concepting, content creation and analytics/optimization, working closely with the Brand Social Team, Series Senior Manager and Social VP. The role requires someone with social experience in the entertainment space who has a strong comprehension of what works across all key platforms.

A successful candidate will be an individual with drive, energy and initiative, a self-starter by nature, passionate about digital media, with a deep enthusiasm for Freeform IP and audience to develop best in class social campaigns. They will also be highly collaborative and excited to work across multiple teams within the Marketing & PR organizations.

Responsibilities:
• Function as the social media lead on assigned Freeform original series and social stunts, gby partnering with internal strategy, media, creative and PR teams as well as external agencies.
• Develop comprehensive social media strategies for each launch that bring the larger marketing strategy to life across social.
• Ideate and execute innovative social and digital marketing tactics for all Freeform titles, driving high levels of engagement and conversation.
• Partner with internal creative teams and external vendors to develop top performing, high-quality social content that fuels social fandoms and elevates our series.
• Develop the tone, voice, and platform strategy for each show's social media accounts.
• Oversee the agency responsible for community management for each series including but not limited to copywriting, content development, scheduling, video captioning, asset management, and moderation.
• Capture social media content at events and shoots.
• Spearhead repeatable and companion social series by partnering with short-form production, programming, and internal creative directors on respective series titles.
• Utilize a deep understanding of social analytics tools such as ListenFirst and Netbase, to use metrics to inform content strategies in real time and share key analytics with show stakeholders.
• Partner with paid media team to execute and optimize campaigns.
• Collaborate with Ad Sales to ideate sponsorable social media opportunities.
• Partner with social media content creators and influencers on a regular basis to develop content and amplify our series.
• Work with Disney Corporate Responsibility to support key initiatives & partnerships for Freeform series and stunts.
• Assist the VP and Senior Manager in developing workflows and processes that address the rapid changes and needs within the social media space.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of professional experience in social media, digital marketing preferably at a studio or streamer.
• Experience managing social media marketing campaigns, preferably in Entertainment.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful large-scale campaigns/initiatives using data and metrics to measure impact and determine necessary pivots, including expert-level knowledge of all major social platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snap, Reddit, Pinterest, and Tumblr and how to leverage product features to drive engagement.
• Strong written and verbal skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong creative instincts and judgment.
• Strong project management, presentation, and communication skills.
• Excellent copywriting skills with a keen sense for post copy and what works across social.
• Experience managing external agencies/partners/talent without oversight.
• Experience presenting campaigns and delivering results to external talent and stakeholders as well as senior executives.
• Ability to work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams across various departments.
• Love for pop culture and the YA entertainment space.
• Team player and able to effectively work with cross-functional departments.
• Understanding of content publishing tools such as Sprinklr and Airtable.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $ 90,480.00 to $124,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
