Comprised of Disney's international media businesses and the Company's various streaming services, the Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment aligns technology, content and distribution platforms to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.

The Walt Disney Company's Direct-to-Consumer and International segment (DTCI) is a global, multiplatform media, technology and distribution organization for high-quality content created by Disney's Studio Entertainment and Media Networks groups.

DTCI includes Disney's international media operations and the Company's direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the upcoming Disney-branded direct-to-consumer streaming service, the Company's ownership stake in Hulu, and the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in partnership with ESPN. BAMTECH Media, developer of the ESPN+ and Disney-branded streaming platforms, oversees all consumer-facing digital technology and products across the Company as part of the Direct-to-Consumer and International segment.

The Media Delivery team at Disney Streaming Services is responsible for the entire audio and video encoding supply chain from content acquisition to delivery, consisting of agile and responsive teams of technicians that perform the daily processes and procedures of our live and on-demand video streaming products. The department's responsibilities provide round-the-clock support for these products, ensuring proper functionality across all platforms and front-end playback scenarios. The Media Delivery Operations team provides operational and procedural support for our partner products, including system health monitoring and incident management, live and VOD streaming media orchestration, and cross-team communications.

Responsibilities:
• Manages a team of Supervisors and Coordinators to support video and post-production platforms
• Technical support of the audio/video encoding pipeline through direct interaction with encoders to troubleshoot issues.
• Work directly with internal and external teams to address issues with AV content.
• Define operational procedures and requirements used by coordinators and supervisors
• Create documentation for the operational staff
• Train and provides technical guidance to direct reports and operational staff.
• Support the operations staff as needed in troubleshooting AV, encoding and other technical issue
• Define requirements with internal development teams
• Report on supply chain health and works with the Senior Manager or Director to resolve issues.
• Define platform requirements and specs
• Act as tier 1 support for customer or internally reported issues
• Verify asset lifecycle
• Support Video Ingest platform
• Support QC and Remediation Operations

Basic Qualifications:
• Typically has 7 or more years of experience in a media or technology field with 3 or more years of management experience.
• 7+ years of experience in digital supply chain
• Strong experience supporting a large-scale VOD digital supply chain or asset management system
• Strong technical understanding of digital video/audio formats and specifications
• Strong video quality control experience
• Solid understanding of video codecs and encoding
• Solid understanding of ABR streaming, specifically HLS
• Good understanding of Aspera and other advanced delivery systems
• Basic understanding of UNIX and comfortable using the command line
• Basic understanding of XML and JSON
• Strong organizational skills; must be able to track large scale projects and keep teams updated on status.
• Experience supporting a large-scale VOD or asset management system
• Must be able to field questions and handle several on-going projects simultaneously

• Experience with FFmpeg
