About the Role & Team
This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week.
As a specialised function within the wider Human Resources department, Compensation liaises day–to-day with HR Managers and Directors across 27 EMEA countries, providing sound and timely advice for them to meet the demands of the business. You will work closely with HR colleagues across EMEA and providing them with Reward-related advice, backed up with sound and robust analysis, as well as market insight. There will be some routine Reward administration and weekly/monthly reporting activities. You will be working under the supervision of the Compensation Manager and among 4 other Analysts, each with their own remits and specialisms.
What You Will Do
Day to day work will involve:
• Assisting the Compensation Manager with coordination of the following cyclical activities: annual salary planning, salary range compilation and International Bonus and Long-term incentive planning.
• Building Excel-based tools to enable the team to calculate and record analysis efficiently and accurately.
• Collating and presenting results of data analysis via Excel or PowerPoint.
• Process promotions and adjustments, providing salary and total compensation recommendations and justifications and managing approvals from senior leaders or US counterparts. This may involve getting buy-in from senior business partners.
• Salary benchmarking and appraisal (against internal and external market), occasionally working with limited data.
• Levelling roles on an ad hoc basis based on the Global Levelling Framework.
• Be a point-of-contact for HR in the absence of other Compensation Analysts/Manager.
• Communicating with HR contacts across EMEA in order to collate or distribute information in relation to Compensation related activities.
• Providing support to the VP, Compensation when required on Executive Compensation.
• Assessing all compensation movement requests (Promotions, salary adjustments, transfers, data corrections, job requisitions etc.) on Workday.
• Data input into appropriate trackers and templates.
• Guide other Analysts on standard guidelines.
Project work will include:
• Benchmarking analysis of whole functions across various countries in order to create robust salary ranges.
• Supporting Compensation Manager on ad hoc projects as and when required (e.g. pay transparency), solving complex compensation-related problems brought forward by HR contacts. This may involve a basic understanding of non-compensation people-related concepts, e.g. job architecture, career progression, internal communications, systems, etc. to create holistic solutions.
• Supporting the coordination and collating the data for salary survey submissions as required.
• Assisting with the implementation and roll-out of Enterprise-wide initiatives and directives from the US.
• Supporting HR contacts with cleaning Compensation-related data.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, i.e. able to effectively communicate with a variety of business partners based on their needs.
• High level of Excel proficiency. Vlookups, IF statements, Pivot tables and familiarity with a wide range of Excel formulas are essential to the role. Presenting a range of mathematical concepts and data sets in an audience-friendly way.
• Able to easily understand and calculate percentages, pro-rata'd amounts, interpret statistics and deal with mathematical concepts related to compensation.
• Creative problem solver, i.e. able to solve complex problems despite limited data and/or policy/process restrictions without compromising integrity.
• Previous compensation experience will be a strong advantage, e.g. experience with conducting an annual salary/bonus review process, pay benchmarking experience, understanding of EMEA labour market.
• Readiness to learn, no matter your experience level.
• Self-starter able to work on own initiative with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
• Extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
