Assistant Manager, Creative Development (PH)

Disney Theatrical Group (DTG) is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager Creative Development to support the creation of Disney-produced and licensed shows . This Creative Development team member will report to the Vice President Creative Development and be primarily responsible for supporting the creation of shows for both first class and licensing . Candidates should have experience working with composers, lyricists and book writers as well as a strong working knowledge of the industry. Candidates should also have strong writing and project management skills . A background in theate r arts is required .

This is 12-month project hire position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Managing author teams throughout the development of JR, Kids, and TYA titles from inception to launch into the catalogue. This work involves assembling the creative team, managing the creation of scripts and scores, and producing readings, labs, and workshops. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager and VP Creative Development to stay on budget and on schedule.
• Collaborat ing with Licensing and Education departments to meet all milestones for JR and Kids releases.
• Developing and drafting published materials for each title launching into the catalogue. This include s writing and editing of ShowKits and all supplemental content, including synopses, character breakdowns, director's tips, and additional notes .
• P roducing Choreography videos and Guide Vocal recordings.
• Supporting the VP Creative Development and Senior Manager in the creation of full-length shows for Broadway and first class. This includes supporting the author teams throughout the life cycle of the show. This may include supporting the teams in creative meetings and work sessions, reviewing outlines and scripts, and chronicling note sessions.
• Contribut ing dramaturgical research support for
our developing projects and established titles .
• Drafting script and score comparisons for executive review.
• Formatting and disseminating scripts for table readings, workshops , and rehearsals .
• Organizin g and uploading scripts, scores , video and audio recordings, and other creative materials to the asset- management system .
• Scout ing works, artists, and issues in the theatrical community. Attend and report
on shows and festivals locally and regionally .
• Assisting with ongoing projects related to the Disney Theatrical Archives

Required qualifications:
• Four
or more years of Development, Production, or Arts Administration Experience.
• A bachelor's degree in theate r
or a related field.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including copy editing .
• Knowledge of musical theat re history and practice .
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced creative environment .
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve desired results .

Preferred qualifications:
• Music background , including knowledge of written music,
orchestrations, and Finale software

• The hiring range for this position in New York is $63,300 to $81,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
