Job Description

Discovery, Inc. is looking for a digital superstar to join the social media team, supporting brands such as Food.com and Cooking Channel. This role will implement social media strategy and monitor day-to-day operations and community management of our active social media platforms.

The ideal candidate is a creative individual with a passion for social media and the world of food.


1. Create an exciting and valuable content experience for our food community across multiple platforms through the daily social media editorial calendar

2. Produce engaging social content to promote digital priorities (memes, Instagram stories, Instagram games)

3. Monitor, respond to and moderate social media conversations on managed platforms. Surface pop culture conversations worth entering, and surface celebrity comments or posts worth responding to

4. Optimize social content for performance on all platforms

5. Commit portion of weekend, weeknights and occasionally holidays (~2 hours/week) to post on social platforms as needed

6. Track, analyze, optimize and report on social media programs to help meet objectives

7. Share community feedback, identify potential issues, manage day-to-day responses, as well as strategize for long-term issues management

8. Support sister brands (such as Food Network) as needed

* Social media or community management experience
* Highly organized and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects
* Extreme attention to detail and proclivity for checking work for accuracy once, twice and three times
* Speedy, proactive work ethic and ability to work ahead
* Active and engaged participant in social media (provide links)
* Depth knowledge of social media platforms and their users (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, tumblr, Google+, etc.)
* Savvy and knowledgeable about current social media trends and innovations
* Solid understanding of digital content, communication and marketing principles
* Photo/video editing experience/basic design capabilities for social media. (Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Photoshop is a plus.)
* Familiarity with web and social media analytics (Tubular, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, etc.)
* Highly creative, strategic thinker with ability to develop fresh, executable ideas that support Food Category initiatives
* Superb verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate effectively, and on-brand, with consumers, in-house stakeholders and outside vendors
* Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with multiple teams
* Complete familiarity with MS Office Suite and Google Drive
* Bachelor's degree
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
