Overview
The Senior Reversioning Producer role is responsible for creating compliant content for all channels and platforms across the UK & EMEA digital and linear business. The position is required to produce and oversee versions in line with the Discovery technical specifications, editorial requirements, internal Standards & Practices and domestic and international compliance regulations.
As a senior role supporting the full departmental remit, the position necessitates an advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance, exceptional communication skills, a high level of personal motivation and the ability to react considerately and decisively to multiple considerations in a fast paced and often time-pressured environment. The position also requires adaptability to new working practices as Discovery pivots towards the direct to consumer business.
Responsibilities
• Provide clear and accurate edit instructions and direction in line with business requirements such as technical and editorial specifications, to ensure reversioned content fulfils all requirements across digital and linear platforms
• Ensure all aspects of Ofcom, Nicam, and other regulatory codes of practice and cultural sensitivities across the EMEA and international business, are applied through appropriate edit decisions and certification
• Create additional content versions in line with compliance regulations and agreed business requirements
• Maintain editorial and storytelling integrity across all edited versions
• Uphold all brand values and adhere to internal Standards & Practices
• Provide guidance and mentoring across the whole team, supporting compliance and content queries and general development.
• Rescript content and direct Voiceover Talent for key promotable revoices in line with channel requirements
• Support bespoke editing and localisation required for Content Sharing titles and complex non-English acquisitions
• Devise creative solutions to compliance, editorial and workflow challenges to create the best outcome for our content.
• Undertake additional project requests and new business requirements (eg channel launches, customisations and ad hoc tasks) as required
• Evaluate and assess potential content, advising the most appropriate reversioning approach
• Be responsible for all appropriate reporting and make sure information is clear, accurate and up to date, including compliance reporting, approval forms, scripts etc.
• Review and collaborate on programmes for code blues or to provide feedback to colleagues and help build a coherent departmental approach.
• Liaise with key stakeholders when required eg Legal and Compliance, to access expert advice, discuss best practice and determine the most suitable approach to meet the requirements of the business
• When and where appropriate, undertake editing training to advance skill set to support integrated viewing and mark-up of content on an edit platform or end-to-end project editing.
Qualifications
• Solid programming experience and a proven track record within Factual, Lifestyle and Entertainment genres
• Advanced knowledge and extensive experience in understanding and applying complex EMEA compliance regulations – including Ofcom, Nicam and cultural sensitivity considerations.
• The ability to acquire and apply further compliance and regulatory knowledge across international broadcast markets.
• Solid knowledge of Post Production processes – an ability to interpret, articulate and apply technical edit considerations.
• Excellent script writing skills and understanding of programme narratives and story arcs
• Ability to multi-task, work calmly under pressure and prioritise in order to comply with tight business and TX critical deadlines.

• The ability to work effectively with colleagues across the international business
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as attention to detail
• Experience of working in international TV and a genuine passion for and interest in the Discovery brands
• The ability to embrace a dynamic and changing environment
• A desire to acquire and develop skills (eg editing) to meet evolving business requirements
• Proficiency in another European language/s is desirable.
