Newshub is a multi-platform, highly collaborative newsroom and our team is committed to creating and delivering great content and great journalism to our audiences. We believe in being the best in delivering news that matters to Kiwis each and every day.

We currently have an opportunity for an experineced Presenter for Newshub Live at 8pm and other bulletins as required, with a view to maximising audience share for the programme.

Responsibilities
• Deliver compelling news on all platforms – primarily for TV and as required, for digital
• Be the primary presenter for one of Newshub's key bulletins
• When presenting, to deliver an error-free engaging read
• Be able to present breaking news and major events in an authoritative, warm and convincing manner
• Conduct live on-air interviews, with the ability to unearth fresh information
• Liaise with producers to develop question lines and interview plans
• Promotional activity for Newshub as required, including driving social media engagement with Newshub and its bulletins
• Find and deliver compelling exclusive stories for Newshub Live at 6pm, which can be followed up in Newshub Live at 8pm.
• Ensure the bulletin is delivered to the correct duration
• Assist the 8pm Producer with editorial priorities for the bulletin
• Cut and publish vision via UX
• Write, produce and present bulletin promos and updates
• Stand in for presenters on other bulletins, as required
• The Employee shall ensure they are familiar with the Employer's health and safety policies and procedures, and any modifications to those policies and procedures that may be introduced from time to time.
• Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself, fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors, or the general public.
• Other duties as required.
• The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties, from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.

Qualifications
• Tertiary level qualification or equivalent industry experience of 5+ years
• Strong organisational skills
• Excellent editorial nous
• Knowledge of New Zealand news and current affairs
• Ability to handle breaking news on air
• Competitiveness to drive constant improvement
• Calm under pressure
• An enthusiastic and positive team player who loves news
• Willing to take direction and also to encourage and advise less experienced journalists
• A generous team member who appreciates individual and business successes
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and hours if required
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure

• Understanding of and engagement with digital platforms including social networks
