Job Description

The Digital Ad Sales organization is responsible for the monetization of all owned and operated digital platforms (streaming devices, Go Apps, websites, mobile) through development and execution of custom advertising solutions including content marketing, sponsorships, social, targeted media, programmatic ads, display ads, newsletters, etc.


The Digital Account Specialist is responsible for all aspects of digital media planning and acts as key point of contact with ad agency and internal constituents; focused on pre-sale and post-sale campaign maintenance such as gathering creative assets and monitoring delivery. This position supports all Discovery Digital Properties and will report to the Manager, Digital Revenue & Planning, led by the VP, Digital Revenue & Planning.

• Develop strategic media plans based on clients' marketing goals.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including agencies, Ad Sales Marketing, Advanced Targeting, Research, Ad Operations, Pricing & Planning
• Fulfill RFP and process insertion orders, secure creative & inventory by deadline and manage digital production.
• Manage presale and post-sales operations ensuring on-time start.

• Work with ad agencies, clients and internal sales teams to gather advertising campaign assets.
• Optimize campaigns for full delivery by monitoring daily delivery of all campaigns running all Discovery brands and associated networks.
• Troubleshoot campaign delivery issues and correct any under/over delivery.
• Partner with Digital Sales Coordinators on billing, invoicing, accounting adjustments.
• Develop post-mortem of major campaigns – detail delivery, successes, and areas of improvement.
• Provide clients with campaign delivery data weekly and monthly, leveraging internal and external reporting tools.
• Prioritize and communicate needs with Account Executives, managers and internal departments.

• Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 2+ year(s) of combined professional and/or equivalent internship experience, preferably within the digital media, advertising sales/agency fields.
• Ability to understand and interpret trends and react with strategic/tactical changes.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational and time management skills, with strong self-directed learning abilities.
• Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
• Knowledge or experience in data management platforms such as: Operative and Salesforce. Basic understanding of ad serving platforms such as Google Ad Manager (DFP) and Freewheel is a plus.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment, among diverse teams in numerous marketplaces.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
