About Discovery Sports:

In June of 2018, Discovery and the PGA TOUR announced a 12-year strategic partnership to create an international multi-platform home for the live rights and over 10,000 hours of on demand content. This new destination will be available to all fans outside the United States. It will include all six-tour operated by PGA TOUR, including THE PLAYERS Championship, FedEx Cup Playoffs, Presidents Cup, and PGA Champions Tour. The business is led by Andrew Georgiou, President of Discovery Sports and the brand is called GOLFTV.

GOLFTV is an international destination for golf fans. The first-of-its-kind digital platform, which launched in January 2019, includes a dedicated video streaming service, ensuring you can watch many of golf's most exciting tournaments, players, and moments anytime, anywhere on every screen and device. The new venture will seek to create a worldwide home for all things golf, with new content and features added on a regular basis to build GOLFTV into the ultimate golf experience.

To support the live content, Discovery Sports agreed multi-year content relationships with Tiger Woods (Global Brand Ambassador) for the streaming service to create exclusive content at tournaments and unique instructional content for distribution on GOLFTV and Golf Digest.

Discovery Sports has also acquired live rights to the European Tour in multiple markets, as well as rights to the Masters in select markets, with further intentions to acquire additional live golf rights.

Recently and most relevant to this role, Discovery Sports announced the acquisition of Golf Digest from Condé Nast, adding further momentum to the brands vision. Discovery Sports will weave Golf Digest's business into the GOLFTV streaming-video division, creating a best-in-class editorial platform to support the live streaming. In the US, Discovery Sports will invest in Golf Digest to grow and enhance its digital and cross platform offerings, utilizing Discovery's experience in developing digital platforms and creating compelling and engaging content.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Account Executive in Discovery Sports' commercial team will be responsible for supporting the advertising and sponsorship revenue generation for the Golf Digest property.

S/he will be expected to develop direct relationships with brands and agencies and build a portfolio of business. This person will be expected to strategically identify potential clients, develop relationships, pitch advertising and sponsorship opportunities, and close business.

This person must have a strong digital sales background with experience in closing complex, multi-platform deals.

We are looking for an energetic, experienced Account Executive(s) in New York City -- responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Maintain and cultivate Client & Agency relationships
• Proactively prospect and research accounts to drive new business
• Work closely with internal Marketing Teams to both respond to RFPs and to proactively target new business
• Assist Sales in all pre & post sales components of Media Buys, post campaign recaps/reporting and prepare the account for renewal opportunities
• Will have the opportunity to present, ideate and generate new marketing concepts/collateral to clients and agencies
• Hospitality and occasional travel
• Actively mentoring support staff and overseeing the stewardship of proposals, deals and post-deal analysis

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum 5 years of media sales experience with proven sales track record. Must have working knowledge of all-media Digital and ad intel, certification, measurement tools et al
• Must have a positive attitude, be a team player and self-motivated to go above and beyond responsibilities to help the team close deals and make numbers.
• Proven experience compiling advertiser needs and preparing custom presentations to aid in closing business.
• Think creatively, multitasker and ability to communicate efficiently both internally and externally required.
• Must have legal right to work in the US.
