The Detroit Pistons are looking for an empathetic, sales minded and revenue driving leader of our ticket sales team. The Director, will be responsible for training, motivating, and mentoring the business development staff. The Director will oversee, innovate, and drive ticket sales to meet and exceed goals set forth. This position will also be responsible for driving accountability for the new business teams by creating goals, metrics, and benchmarks through our CRM and sales enablement platforms. This person will oversee a significant portion of full, half, and partial season plans for the Detroit Pistons.

What you'll be doing:
• Be the go-to manager to assist reps in closing plan business
• Attend sales appointments with the sales staff
• Provide daily coaching for the sales staff
• Drive accountability and measure success against goals, benchmarks, and metrics
• Meet and exceed all annual sales goals
• Collaborate with other departments and partners to grow the season ticket member base
• Execute active outbound campaigns
• Create training/onboarding programs to share best practices, foster career development and contribute to a culture of learning and growth
• Establish (bi-)weekly meetings with individual team members
• Review pipelines and conduct call-coaching
• Support sellers in outbound outreach to grow plan-based sales
• Use league and industry best-practices to create a first-class ticket sales program
• Responsible for initial on-sale events for new season ticket sales; timelines, e-marketing campaigns, in-game and external marketing programs, inventory management, and online activation
• Collaborate with other departments to design and execute events and programs that generate leads and new business opportunities
• Work closely with Director, CRM on CRM / Database initiatives such as data collection, analytics and marketing directly related to generating incremental ticket sales revenue
• Assist Marketing department with the development of sales materials and promotions
• Other duties as reasonably assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in ticket sales or service with collegiate and/or professional sports team(s)
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role in ticket sales or service with collegiate and/or professional sports team(s)
• Strong leadership skills, including time, project, and campaign management, while being able to empower a team to achieve sales and retention goals
• Ability to contribute to and drive a strong sales and service culture consisting of teamwork and collaboration, career development, and personal growth
• Capability to ideate and execute innovative strategies to grow staff skillsets and the season ticket base
• Track record of exceeding goals
• Proven track record of success in cross-functional work environments
• Strong communication, prioritization, and organization skills
• Candidate should be a self-starter, independent, a creative thinker, ambitious, result-oriented

Work Environment

Works primarily in an office environment but is expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
