Coordinator, Game Presentation & Entertainment

Function: Marketing

Status (E/NE, FT/PT): FT

Reports to: Director, Game Presentation

This position will play a vital role in supporting the Detroit Pistons Game Presentation department and will primarily be responsible for assisting entertainment teams, coordinating game day logistics, and supporting in-game element/event needs for the Game Presentation Department. This position will also provide day-to-day support for the other members of the department, serve as secondary stage manager and liaison with game night staff.

The Coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating the inclusion of guest performers on game nights. This position must have knowledge of live events, performance and production and be very well organized under tight deadlines. This position requires the ability to perform well under pressure and have excellent communication skills & attention to detail. This role will support the Detroit Pistons, Motor City Cruise, and Pistons live event programming.

What you'll be doing
• Manage back-of-house operations for Detroit Pistons home games, such as coordinating needs for anthem singers, halftime acts, and guest performers
• Coordinate all game day and event day arena logistics needs (including parking, credentials, dressing room assignments)
• Support lead stage manager on in-game executions
• Assist Entertainment Team directors in creating and updating rehearsal, game, and appearance schedules
• Fully maintain Entertainment Team event booking requests, department calendar, and circulate weekly internal memo
• Assist Directors in production of Pistons live events, including but not limited to Draft parties, season ticket holder and community events
• Assist with Entertainment team and part-time staff merchandise and uniform ordering
• Lead the preparation and track inventory of prizing/giveaways during and leading up to games
• Handle purchasing, maintenance, and storage of game props (T-shirt guns, air tanks, contest props, fatheads, thundersticks, etc.)
• Liaise with part-time Pistons Entertainment staff (DJs, hosts, PA Announcer) on logistics, booking, and uniform needs
• Collaborate with Motor City Cruise game presentation team to support ideation and promotional executions, serve as secondary show caller
• Consistent research and pitching of new and innovative game presentation ideas and technology

What we're looking for
• 1-2 years of event operations, production, and/or stage management experience at the collegiate or professional level; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of live events, performance, and production is a must
• Ability to motivate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
• Self-starter with creative vision and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Must have strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Shoflo, scripting, and control room experience is a plus
