Senior Director, Cinema Mastering Technology

This position can be located in Burbank, CA or London, UK

Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated team member to join us for an exciting and rewarding position fulfilling 'behind-the-curtain' roles and responsibilities centered around mastering technology development.

This role will be primarily responsible for guiding all aspects of digital cinema mastering technology including research and requirements gathering for new solutions along with development and testing of new systems and workflows. The right person for this role will have extensive operational experience with a variety of digital cinema mastering toolsets. They will also have experience leading or guiding systems development as a project manager, product owner, or other key technology stakeholder in major development projects. This person will work to bridge the gap between operations and engineering, gaining a deep understanding of operational systems and workflows while pushing development teams consider issues, address blockers, meet requirements, and deliver products on time.

Reporting to the VP, Cinema Technology – Worldwide, this person will act as the businesses subject matter expert for all things related the digital cinema mastering. They will also have some involvement in other Cinema technology projects including but not limited to distribution, and theatrical presentation, and core infrastructure. Finally, this person should feel comfortable representing Deluxe and pursuing its technology interests while interfacing with clients, vendors, industry groups, and at conferences.

Main Duties
• Gain deep understanding of current operational systems and workflows
• Work with operations executives to build and prioritize mastering technology roadmap
• Research new mastering tools and perform integration testing
• Build a close relationship with key vendor to ensure operational readiness as well as quick and effective troubleshooting
• Work with operational leads to build new product requirements and map potential workflows
• Work with development/engineering to scope projects, outline level of effort and timelines
• Represent operations and ensure requirements are being tracked during regular project/product development meetings
• Own UAT process development and assist/guide testing
• Represent Deluxe Cinema Operations and Technology in client sales efforts, with industry groups, and at conferences.

What You Bring
• 8+ Years of relevant experience (mix of operations and systems development)
• Operational knowledge of Clipster, Transkoder, Wailua, and other digital cinema related toolsets
• Extensive product development or technical project management experience
• Deep understanding of Digital Cinema packaging and other media format standards
• Technical documentation and training experience
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization from senior executives to entry-level operations
• Ability to exert influence and align goals across a matrixed organization; from operations, to engineering, and sales
• Driven, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

Desired Knowledge and Experience
• Knowledge of media systems infrastructure engineering concepts
• Experience with engineering cloud-based media systems
• AWS Certification
• Programming experience
