Job Description

Deluxe Animation Studios is growing and we're seeking a highly skilled Lighter for an animated episodic series. The role of the Lighter is to light shots, using the established styles and techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Lighting of shots following lighting keys using established styles and techniques, working from 2D and 3D visual reference.
• Aid in the realization of the Director's vision through the creation of dramatic, compelling, and moody lighting.
• Create high-quality lighting schemes that meet the visual direction of the show while maintaining strong shot-to-shot continuity.
• Help meet team targets and quotas.
• Collaborate with a team of international artists.

Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Animation, Film, Art or equivalent professional work experience.
• Understanding of lighting and color theory principles.
• Experience in photography a plus.
• Experience in scripting a plus.
• Link to Demo Reel/Portfolio showcasing 3D lighting work done in recent years.

Technical Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of 3D lighting in Maya. Experience with other programs a plus.
• Working knowledge of rendering in Renderman and Arnold. Experience with other programs a plus.
