We're currently seeking a Background Painter for a 2D animated feature film. The Background Painter is responsible for background color, layouts and other aspects, furthering the storytelling process and ensuring the look of each scene meets the standards of Production and is consistent throughout the film. This role reports directly to the Background Supervisor.

Responsibilities - Your Impact & What You'll Be Doing
• Work alongside Background Lead and other artists to add color, textures and details to background designs.
• Support the story's narrative by adding color and dimension to the film's scenery.
• Refer to the color keys laid out by the Art Director to maintain the established color style of the film.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - What you bring to the team
• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Film, Art or equivalent professional work experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in animation production.
• A strong artistic background and understanding of light, shadow and color.
• Ability adhere to the overall style and feel of the film.
• Familiar with Photoshop.
• Proven ability as a Background Painter.
• Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines
