The Job

The CW Television Network is currently looking for a VP, Technical Program Management and Affiliate Relations. This position reports to the EVP, Distribution, Strategy & Affiliate Relations, and is responsible for leading the technical program management efforts for the network and overseeing Affiliate Relations with the network's technical leaders at local stations. This role interfaces across all Nexstar and CW cross-functional teams, with affiliated stations, and with product partners (e.g., LIV).

The Daily

Technical Program Management.
• Senior executive liaison with affiliates with regards to technical programs and station operations.
• Responsible for the management and execution of all technological program management.
• Manage network's relationship with content delivery vendor – in partnership with corporate operations team.
• Oversight of station communications regarding technical operating procedures.
• Daily / weekly /quarterly bi-directional interaction with station technical leadership.
• Responsible for developing program governance and executive-level reporting with emphasis on goals, scope, deliverables, roles & responsibilities, and monitoring KPI success and reporting.
• Working across the Nexstar portfolio to maximize assets and drive accretive growth through efficiencies, synergies, and strategic partnerships.
• Acting as a trusted advisor and leader across the Company.

Affiliate Relations.
Oversee efforts of matrixed team to lead:
• Create, vet, and socialize program management initiatives that support business growth and maximize on air up time. Liaise with station groups and internal stakeholders and execute.
• Affiliate Operations: Liaising between Nexstar technical leadership and chief engineers at each station. Ensuring stations (both CW-affiliated stations and CW Sports-affiliated stations) have the ongoing direction and guidance they need to receive the CW content.

The Essentials

We are seeking a senior level leader who is a strategic thinker and doer that will execute in an agile, fast-paced environment with effective communication skills as they lead team members and influence stakeholders. The VP will have strong relationship-building skills, deep industry knowledge, well-honed business acumen, ability to clarify and summarize complex issues, and strong attention to detail. The position requires superior problem solving skills regarding technical issues and the ability to influence cross-functionally and at minimum possesses:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, or related field.
• Management Experience: 10+ years in media; 5+ in executive leadership positions.
• Project Management Experience: 10+ years in being a Super Project Manager executing on numerous projects that nest as a Program(s) supporting the overall CW distribution strategy.
• Technical Experience: 10+ years in complex technical project management in an agile model with emphasis on critical paths and five nines up time.
• Strategy Experience: Demonstrated success building strategies and executing at scale.
• Collaboration: Resourceful, competitive executive with a strong sense of urgency, while knowing how to work collaboratively to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities.
• Passion: For local broadcasting and fact-based, non-biased news.
• Leadership: An inspiring executive that leads by example and effectively energizes the team to execute against the objectives of the Company to increase shareholder value.

The Compensation
• $160k – $168K/yr commensurate with experience and skill level
