This position will support the Senior Payroll Manager within our US payroll department. This will include observing the organizations' payroll principles, practices, and procedures in a timely and accurate manner.

MAIN DUTIES:
The Payroll Specialist processes regular and supplemental biweekly payroll for all employee groups, performs complex payroll calculations, gathers, and verifies information from departments for proper processing of payroll transactions, and creates, audits, corrects and balances payroll and a variety of reports. They will be responsible for converting raw timesheet data into payroll data while adhering to provincial employment standards. They will be analyzing payroll system calculations for accuracy; research and apply corrective action as needed, including salary adjustments for retroactive pay & retirement purposes. They will also be responsible for the following:
• Develops and maintains complex payroll spreadsheets; compiles, analyzes, calculates, and audits information from all relevant forms; processes adjustments, codes and enters information into the payroll system.
• Calculates, verifies, and processes deductions; disburses payments in accordance with established timelines; determines the appropriate amount for voluntary and involuntary deductions.
• Responds to employee verifications from various external agencies for detailed information on pay rates and wages paid.
• Oversee and balance vacation banks in the payroll system or in the absence management system as needed.
• Research and calculate historical edits in Timekeeping system.
• Compile reports for Finance/Treasury and support biweekly reconciliation process.
• Support internal/external audit requests including investigating any discrepancies related to time and/or payroll calculations.
• Support Year End Procedures including the issuing of year-end tax documents and annual remittance reconciliation.
• Back up for Payroll Associate position.
• All other job-related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will bring prior working experience with ADP or other payroll processing systems . They be experienced with f ull cycle payroll processing , timekeeping and HR systems , payroll tax processing , and year end processing . They will also bring strong Excel skills, comfortable performing VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables. Additional desired skills include:

• Flexible work hours due to various processing deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
• Experience with ADP Vantage, UKG Pro, UKG WFM, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
