CNN is seeking a Vice President of Audience and Engagement Analytics who will be instrumental in leading and fostering a culture of data informed decision-making. This individual should be self-motivated, work well independently and as part of a team, and be passionate about what they do. The role will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts and data scientists who analyze audience and engagement trends through behavioral, quantitative and qualitative data to guide product and editorial decision-making. The Vice President will report to the SVP of CNN Data Analytics, Science, and Insights.

Your Role Accountabilities... 

The VP of Audience and Engagement Analytics will
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with CNN's business
objectives , focusing on audience growth, engagement optimization, and revenue enhancement.
• Lead the creation of innovative, data-driven initiatives to identify new opportunities in content strategy, product development, and audience engagement.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to audience growth, engagement, and content performance metrics.
• Hire, develop, and lead a team of data analy s ts and data scientists who partner with product and editorial teams
• Set and drive the analytic strategy of the Audience and Engagement groups within CNN , building programs to execute data analysis , experimentation, and survey-based research in support of product and editorial decisions . 
• Direct the team in building repeatable systems to ingest, share and distribute insights to key internal stakeholders at the management and team level, fostering a long-term data informed decision-making culture that
optimizes revenue for CNN properties. 
• Evaluate existing and develop new metrics, reports, and dashboards for internal audiences; apply both quantitative disciplines and creativity to translate data into actionable insights through data visualization 
• Create actionable d aily and weekly r eporting through daily health monitoring reports, proactively follow up with appropriate teams when data is outside of established thresholds, make recommendations based on business needs and priorities 
• Define and validate data by working with business partners to ensure data quality and alignment with company-wide data logic/naming conventions 
• Work with internal or external data partners to process, organize, and connect various data sources, including content metadata, behavioral user data, and third-party audience and customer satisfaction data .
• C reate consistent and documented data definitions for key audience and engagement metrics  

Qualifications & Experience... 
• 10+ years of e xperience in data/analytics or related field 
• 3+ years of e xperience managing and building an analytics team 
• Experience with BI tools ( e.g. Looker, Domo, Tableau, etc.) 
• Significant experience using SQL to explore and analyze large data sets in cloud environments  
• Experience with providing data requirements while working with structured and unstructured data sets
• A proven track record
of providing actionable insights that drive business impact in the form of revenue or profit.

• A self-starter who is passionate about getting data, using data, making sense of data, and helping others benefit from making analytics driven decisions 

Nice-to-Haves 
• BA/BS degree
or higher in Math/Stats,
Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or
other related quantitative field 
• Experience with digital media data, either web or mobile 
• Experience as a leader of leaders
• Experience working with editorial teams
• Strong background in experimentation and statistics
• Experience with writing Python and R scripts

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $147,966.00 - $274,794.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
