Your New Role…

The supervising producer works with show producers to hone the editorial direction of CNN International shows, keeps an eye on latest story developments, and checks for updated guidance from editors and managers. Supervising producers are the senior editorial voice in the control room for show output. During breaking news, supervising producers are expected to make timely decisions about coverage and consult managers when necessary. Each supervisor's shift covers several hours of programming.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Oversight of a team of copy editors, producers, and writers.
• Prioritize the daily news agenda, arranging coverage through the National and International desks.
• Demonstrate an assured grasp of when/whether to go to a Live Event/Breaking News.
• Approve show rundowns and recognize the importance of story selection, variety and depth in the treatment of the news agenda.
• Manage a team of journalists and control room staff, communicating professionally and effectively.

Qualifications & Experience...
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or equivalent work experience, and at least three years in television news production within CNN or at a major television market.
• Highly developed editorial skills
• Strong communication across all levels of the organization, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Works well under pressure and fast paced environment.
• Proven leadership and ability to coordinate and influence work with multiple groups across the organization.
• Package production and show team experience
• A longstanding interest in international news and current affairs is essential. A working knowledge of business and economic stories is preferred.
• Ideal candidates will have an understanding of INews, server-based playback, and template-based graphics.
