Job Description
As Senior Director, you will be responsible for setting the creative and editorial direction of our enterprise video content-overseeing high-profile projects from pitch to publication. You'll collaborate closely with CNN correspondents, producers, field teams, editors, and leadership to ensure our enterprise journalism is not only journalistically rigorous but also visually distinctive and emotionally resonant.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Develop and drive a modern, video-first editorial vision for enterprise, character-driven storytelling that resonates across digital, streaming and broadcast platforms.
• Identify and nurture original reporting ideas and formats that push the boundaries of enterprise journalism at CNN.
• Assess and manage budgets for projects.
• Partner with correspondents, photojournalists and field teams to shape narrative arcs and visual strategies in early stages of reporting.
• Guide teams through end-to-end production, including scripting, editing, graphics, sound design and publishing-ensuring every story is both factually sound and visually powerful.
• Provide editorial and creative oversight on script writing, video edits, and final packages; offer constructive feedback and elevate the storytelling.
• Collaborate with leadership across departments-including digital, linear, standards, legal, and PR-to ensure cross-platform alignment and journalistic integrity.
Qualifications & Experience…
• 10+ years of video editorial production experience, preferably within a newsroom or breaking news environment
• 3+ years of team leadership with direct people management responsibilities
• Strong record of building and scaling video experiences or franchises
• Previous experience overseeing multiple teams and/or an entire production unit or vertical
• Demonstrated point of view of editorial vision and audience instinct
• Demonstrated strategic thinking & ability to execute on strategy
• Proven organizational and team leadership/development
• Proven ability to innovate in visual storytelling and format development
• Data fluency and performance-driven editorial planning
• Interprets platform-native metrics, evaluates format impact on distribution, bridges creative strategy and technical distribution expertise.
• Experience working with global teams is a plus
• Strong communicator and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage interdependent, matrixed stakeholder relationships
• Must be agile and adaptable in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $140,000.00 - $260,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
