The Senior Producer is a key member of our Capitol Hill team, delivering original text and video reporting and positioning CNN to offer viewers and readers competitive, real-time coverage of lawmakers' actions. This person works closely with our correspondents, reporters, producers and photojournalists on the Hill in an assignment that requires strong organizational and logistical skills, as well as sharp editorial acumen.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Maintain a 360-degree operational view of Capitol Hill to ensure CNN is strategically positioned for competitive, real-time coverage of both chambers.
• Deliver distinctive, original reporting and write stories for the website and mobile app
• Shoot, edit and transmit videos in the field, for linear and digital programming
• Track daily and long-range congressional events, hearings and press availabilities to anticipate and plan comprehensive coverage.
• Coordinate camera and crew placement across Senate and House locations, balancing editorial priorities with logistical constraints.
• Serve as the primary liaison between field crews on the Hill and the CNN assignment desk, facilitating seamless communication and swift deployment.
• Troubleshoot on-the-fly logistical issues, including access, equipment placement and last-minute schedule changes.
• Provide on-the-ground support and situational awareness to producers and correspondents, ensuring editorial goals align with real-time logistics.
• Provide editorial guidance for digital and linear use on procedural and news developments.
Qualifications & Experience…
• Minimum of two to three years of production experience in the news television industry or digital video journalism.
• College degree or equivalent industry experience
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills and understanding of storytelling on multiple platforms
• Exceptional editorial acumen and ability to interpret complex editorial issues
• Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment 24 hours/365 days a year

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $108,500.00 - $201,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
