General Summary:
An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen to join CNN, the No.1 International news brand and one of the largest publishers of premium content in the world.
Based at the offices in Singapore, you will be generating revenue from the distribution of CNN to hotels and commercial premises in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and other designated territories in Asia Pacific region.
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Distribution, APAC, you will be joining the team as Sales Manager, Commercial Distribution, APAC and assist with the implementation of the content and licensing sales strategy for non-residential premises in the region.
The Commercial Distribution Team is part of a content licensing and partnership team of 25, working out of London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo and Miami offices.
Key Responsibilities:
The Sales Manager, Commercial Distribution, APAC will have the following responsibilities:
• Working under direction of Director, Commercial Distribution, APAC and with the support of Sales Team Co-ordinator as well as internal marketing, finance and legal functions, the Sales Manager is tasked with growing the Commercial Distribution business in APAC.
• The Sales Manager's focus is to increase the individual hotel sales in Asia Pacific territories as well as local licensees and manage churn in APAC.
o Take initiative and seek new opportunities and manage territory sales across APAC with focus on Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Fiji, and Philippines.
o Maintain and manage current client sales' portfolio for existing direct business in Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan.
o New business generation for distribution of CNN International channel in hotels across APAC.
o Upsell CNN TAP, a CNN-managed customer wifi API, to current and new hotel clients and liaise with the Digital Ad Sales team on the latest Ad Sales campaigns for CNN TAP in APAC.
o Work with the Director, Commercial Distribution, APAC to seek new business opportunities.
o Keep track of our sales progress for a smooth work processes
o Provide timely forecasts and management reports
o Research hotel pipeline and the hotel opening status across APAC
• Maintain sales activity administration, working with Sales Team Co-ordinator to:
o Use Avvoka (contract management) and Ibravo (customer billing) systems.
o Assist with CNN's Hotel Partnership Programme (''HPP''), updating client hotels' details on the HPP website and manage status report for APAC.
o Liaise with Head of Marketing on HPP-related matters and upsell HPP across APAC hotels.
o Provide support through efficient management of confidential agreements and contracts.
• Assist Finance, working with Sales Team Co-ordinator to:
o Monitor account performance & accounts receivables to ensure timely and accurate payments
o
Oversee correct administration of new and renewed agreements
o Inform Finance Team of missing invoices and/or chasing of overdue payments from clients with assistance from AR team.
Experience required:
• Commercial experience in the following areas, preferred but not essential:
- Acquiring/licensing/selling services to the hospitality sector
- Licensing or distributing television channels /content
- Provision of entertainment and/or communication technology services to the hospitality sector
• A highly motivated self-starter with a continued interest to hone their professional selling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
• Strong influencing, negotiating and concept selling skills, and the ability to help build and maintain client relationships.
• Ability to work efficiently across different levels of business stakeholders and internal support functions.
• Passionate, hard worker and well-organized professional with power to prioritize and multitask.
• Should exert sound judgment, discretion and preserve confidentiality.
• Excellent English language skills both spoken and written.
• Fluency in Mandarin a plus.
• University Degree or equivalent a plus.
