Multiplatform Headline Copy Editor, CNN Espanol (Miami)

The Job
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on journalist who will help us cover major events by writing and editing powerful headlines and short news items for TV and Digital.

*Must be willing to work any shift including weekends and overnights*

* Written and verbal Spanish and English fluency required *

The Daily
• Create sharp headlines for TV and Digital, mostly in breaking news situations
• We want someone who has voice, verve, and vision, who has an insatiable appetite for breaking news and can easily familiarize with the major players in our main stories
• They should have an ability to track constantly changing and emerging newsmakers and storylines
• Demonstrate a strong familiarity with CNNE Stylebook and CNN Legal Standards to ensure consistency that increases CNN's credibility

The Essentials
• 5 years full time broadcast, agency or digital news writing and/or editing required; 7 years desirable
• Four-year college degree or equivalent in proven industry experience required
• Sound editorial and social judgment; excellent writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment making independent decisions
• Understanding of audiences across TV, web, mobile web, social accounts, through SEO
• Strong technical capabilities
• Perfect grasp of written and spoken Spanish
• Available to work nights and weekends
• Able to write accurate and creative headlines for several platforms
• Must also have a strong understanding of Latin America and US Hispanic news and issues
• Ability to work quickly under pressure and collaborate closely with others
