Overview:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing critical components of comprehensive internal employee engagement events, communications and brand campaigns to connect employees to the brand, our priorities and initiatives, and to one another.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Tactical management of internal communications and the implementation of brand engagement events. Typical responsibilities include tracking project schedules & timelines, managing deliverables and budgets, manages event and comms plans, partnering with colleagues in DEI, HR, and PR to ideate and execute initiatives, templating communications, virtual and hybrid event production. Manages internal websites and leverages relationships to cross-promote brand across the company and around the world. Exceptional soft skills and demonstrates proficiency in and working knowledge of several of the function's platforms and processes. The scope of the work varies, but deals with communications mediums such as: print, digital, broadcast, social, 3rd party requests, and partnerships.
Will work on a variety of projects that support CNN Worldwide and the broader division, WarnerMedia news & Sports. Reports to the Vice President of Internal Communications. Has a direct report, Marketing Coordinator, and works to manage through influence and relationships across the organization. Excellent communication and impeccable attention to detail are critical to the success of this position and to the overall teams success. Being flexible with the ability to adjust quickly in an ever-changing news environment is also absolutely necessary.
In general, the team (led by the VP) is highly visible across the organization and responsible for partnering across the enterprise on communications, engagement and brand marketing strategy & goals, planning, development and activation of events, initiatives and campaigns that support CNN Worldwide as well as WarnerMedia Studios, Turner Sports and Bleacher Report.
Additional Qualifications:
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem solving and time-management skills
• Extraordinarily detail oriented
• Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency
• Self-Starter, willing to learn on-the-job
• High EQ & well-developed soft skills
• Video production experience, particularly with Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience using communications platforms like MailChimp, BananaTag, SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Forms
• Working knowledge of video communications platforms including WebEx, Zoom
• Production and graphic design experience are welcome but not required
Prior Work Experience:
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible communications experience
• Ideal candidate will have prior experience managing people
• Working knowledge and interest in media
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree is required preferably in the marketing, communications or related advertising area
