CNN is seeking a Director of Audience Analytics who will be instrumental in overseeing audience reporting, analysis and insights across CNN digital. The role regularly interacts with senior management and works closely with cross-functional leaders across product, editorial and the rest of the data analytics team. This individual should be self-motivated, work well independently and as part of a team, and be passionate about what they do. They will be responsible for creating actionable insights and for leading a team to do the same, including analyzing audience and landscape trends -- both on and off-platform -- creating and maintaining key dashboards, and benchmarking/forecasting performance on a regular basis. The Director will be a core member of the data analytics team and report to the Vice President of Audience and Engagement Analytics.
Your Role Accountabilities...
The Director of Audience Analytics will
• Establish strong and productive relationships with business, product and editorial leadership to understand the needs of the business and use that knowledge to prioritize strategic initiatives, set and monitor OKRs, and focus analysis on key questions.
• Set priorities and establish roadmaps for supporting business, product, and editorial teams with analytics and insights, including creating processes around how to measure and evaluate new initiatives and products.
• Manage audience analytics requirements and data quality across CNN Digital and external audience analytics vendors.
• Lead a team to produce best-in-class actionable insights around the CNN user across platforms, uncovering and presenting new analyses and findings for the business to act on.
• Manage a team of analysts who partner with cross-functional leaders in the editorial, product, and research space.
• Refine existing audience performance reporting mechanisms, utilizing first and third-party data sources to track performance trends.
• Manage long-range traffic forecasting efforts, partnering with multiple stakeholder teams to ensure alignment.
• Partner with other analytics teams to provide a holistic view of CNN for leadership.

Qualifications & Experience...
• 10+ years in audience, growth, or product analytics working as a lead or senior contributor.
• 3+ years leading a team.
• Strong working knowledge of digital and social analytics: creating comprehensive reports around onsite and off-platform performance and using analytics and data storytelling skills to turn these into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in forecasting (e.g. linear regression and time series models).
• Demonstrated experience partnering directly with cross-functional leaders, particularly in audience and editorial contexts.
• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages to diverse audiences.
• Expertise in using SQL to explore and analyze large data sets.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g. Looker, Domo, Tableau, etc.).
• Experience with Adobe Analytics or similar.

Nice-to-Haves
• BA/BS degree or higher in Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related quantitative field
• Experience with social analytics tools (e.g. Rival IQ, Tubular, etc…) or other third-party audience insights tools (e.g. comScore, Similarweb) strongly preferred.
• Experience with digital news or relevant digital analytics experience plus strong interest in news.
• Experience with data science programming languages like Python and R.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $119,000.00 - $221,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
