Job Description
Associate Reporter, Climate and Weekend News
This is an early-career position covering one of the biggest stories of the 21st century – climate change and its effects on business and the economy. It's based in our Englewood Cliffs, NJ, office, with some option for remote work. The position is full-time five days a week, including weekends.
What You'll Do
• Cover climate change from a current-day business angle with an emphasis on the clean energy sector, including solar, wind, geothermal, hydrogen, and more.
• Deliver quick, accurate coverage of other climate-related news, including policy, adaptation, decarbonization, ESG, and extreme weather.
• Develop sources and pitch original features and scoops across a wide range of climate-related topics.
• Assist with general business news coverage on the weekends.

Qualifications
What You'll Bring
• At least one year of experience working in a fast-paced digital or TV newsroom.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Working knowledge of the issues and solutions surrounding climate change.
• Excitement to focus on present-day news rather than long-term predictions.
• Ability to stay cool while managing multiple tasks and working under deadline pressure.
• Solid writing and verbal communication skills.
You'll Stand Out With
• Environmental science or degree, or climate industry experience or internships.
• Business experience or internships.
• Obsession with following fast-breaking news from a variety of sources.
Additional Requirements:
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
