Responsibilities

What you'll do:
• Improve and expand our coverage of the technology industry by delivering timely news and gripping features.
• Cover breaking news on a wide range of companies, people and events in and around tech.
• Write product reviews and how-tos for the CNBC business audience.
• Deliver original reporting and deeper features in areas that could include consumer technology, online culture, mis/disinformation, cybersecurity, emerging technology, or other areas of interest.
• Collaborate with CNBC's digital video team.
• Take opportunities to appear on CNBC TV to discuss scoops and offer expertise.

Qualifications/Requirements
What you'll bring:
• At least 4 years of experience in tech or business reporting.
• Broad knowledge of the companies, people and trends in the tech industry today.
• Exceptional writing skills, especially under deadline.
• Basic understanding of business and finance with a desire to learn more.
• Strong hands-on experience with personal technology.
• A wealth of ideas for stories that will help define your beat.
• Growth mindset. This is a dynamic team and workplace where original ideas and reporting are valued.

Desired Characteristics

You'll stand out with:
• Experience doing product reviews in print or on video.
• Nerd-level enthusiasm for personal technology.
• History of covering fast-breaking news or live events.
• Cybersecurity expertise or interests.
• TV or digital video appearances.

Additional requirements:
