Responsibilities

CNBC International is looking for a talented Producer to create original news content for our Asia business day live news programmes. The Producer will work with a team of highly motivated Anchors, Reporters, Supervising Producer and Producers to seamlessly execute a live TV show, following developing and breaking news stories.

This role would suit someone with strong storytelling skills, along with excellent editorial judgement and the ability to determine guests on the show. As a Producer, you'll also contribute to creating content across CNBC's portfolio, including CNBC.com, CNBC Pro and our growing social media and digital video platforms.

What you'll do:
• Pitch show ideas, story ideas, and coordinate closely with News Desk in booking guests and interview direction
• Build the initial show structure and stack live show rundowns
• Support the Supervising Producer in managing the show production team
• Write headlines and key top stories in the daily rundown
• Plan and execute compelling story ideas in both live, pre-recorded and package formats, ensuring clear communication with producers and reporters in the field
• Line producing and live gallery production, with a responsibility for reacting to breaking news
• Make effective use of CNBC computer systems, graphics, CGs, Hotboards (stock charts)
• Build and maintain relationships with CNBC guests and contributors
• Collaborate with other departments, including CNBC Global partners and especially the Operations, Gallery and Graphics teams to make the best possible programming, maintaining our high production and editorial standards
• Curate content across CNBC's portfolio, including CNBC,com, CNBC Pro and our social media and digital video platforms

Qualifications/Requirements
What you'll bring:
• University degree or equivalent experience
• Significant experience in News Production and monitoring, selecting, and delivering breaking news
• Experience within an international news organisation (desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of global business, economics, and financial markets
• Proven ability to support and mentor junior team members, (prior line management experience desirable)
• Capable of handling short deadlines and working in a fast-paced live news environment
• Control room/gallery experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong understanding of the role of social media in news broadcasting and multi-platform delivery
• Ambition to learn new skills, with long-term aspirations to grow within NBCUniversal's award winning News Group and potential to progress from Producer into a junior Newsroom management role
• High standard of written English, additional languages would be beneficial
