Responsibilities
Business Planning & Operations Manager
CNBC's executive memberships business, CNBC Councils, is seeking a Planning & Operations Manager who will play a prominent role in tracking, analyzing, and managing key components of our fast-growing business.

The Planning & Operations Manager partners with the membership development and engagement managers to ensure CNBC's executive membership programs have flexible and sustainable strategy and operations capable of scaling at the speed of a news organization. This role also works closely with editorial and production leadership.

What you'll do:

Sales Planning
• Develop and vet lead lists to prepare, organize and maintain list of targets, keeping them up to date with contact information using database tools
• Gather and analyze data on target segments and industries
• Research and understand industry trends to help team forecast effectively and make smart predictions
• Own, maintains, and regularly update sales and engagement data tools

Analysis & Reporting
• Track attendance and engagement metrics in partnership with engagement manager
• Track key sales metrics in partnership with membership acquisition manager
• Own and execute ongoing reporting
• Manage quarterly and annual forecasting budget and planning exercises in collaboration with Director and finance team
• Track and submit expenses for team budget and forecasts

Business Planning and Project management
• Assume operational leadership of projects as needed. This could include a range of projects, such as building an ops function for a new business line or managing complex cross-functional efforts to deliver key business outcomes
• Track milestones of project plans and report out to leadership on progress, challenges and issues
• Support cross-functional leaders on managing projects for key initiatives
• Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on all projects driving the CNBC Councils business across groups

Qualifications/Requirements
What you'll bring:
• 4 years of proven experience in business operations, consulting, strategic planning
• Experience in developing project roadmaps and strategic planning around major growth initiatives
• Strong business acumen: ability to approach complex business problems in a structured way and drive rapidly towards insight
• Strong people influencing skills, including a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superior verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organization Experience with planning process, and/or metrics and measurement desired
• Team player with a positive attitude who thrives in a collaborative work environment

Desired Characteristics

You'll stand out if:
• Experience in media, professional events or memberships for senior executives a plus
• Able to multi-task and prioritize, and capable of handling projects with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented self-starter with strong problem-solving and project management skills
• Must be entrepreneurial and self-starter with the ability to fully own and drive projects forward
