Cineverse is searching for an Accounting Manager to join our fast-paced and exciting company. The Accounting Manager will focus on daily accounting operations and management reporting for multiple revenue generating segments. We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to take initiative, ask questions, detect problems and provide solutions. The successful candidate must have great organizational skills and be able to manage complicated work efficiently and effectively.
Essential Functions
• Responsible for the oversight of full cycle general ledger with heavy focus on revenue and accounts receivable.
• Participate in monthly accounting functions, including but not limited to journal entry preparation & review, monthly & quarterly variance analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet and account reconciliations.
• Facilitate and oversee customer invoicing and payment collection/application to ensure timely settlement of balances due.
• Maintain key sub-ledgers, perform and/or review account reconciliations, roll forwards, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial calculations and account analyses, including supporting schedules on a monthly and quarterly basis as well as leading weekly cash collections forecasting process.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial systems and executing on key initiatives as directed by accounting/company leadership.
• Enforce and maintain technical and operational accounting policies.
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives and prepare ad hoc financial analyses as required for monthly management reporting.
• Work closely with the external auditors in annual audits and quarterly reviews.
• Perform certain key internal control processes with emphasis on ensuring compliance with all process narratives.
• Develop and coach small team of direct reports inclusive of employee reviews, goal setting and training.
• Special projects as requested.
Essential Qualifications/Competencies
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar required.
• CPA required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably 2 or more years in public accounting.
• 2+ years of leadership experience required.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, operations, account analysis, and management reporting.
• Excellent understanding of business operations and accounting in order to initiate and lead process improvements and documentation of standard operating procedures.
• Experience in publicly held media and entertainment companies preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
• Experience with Netsuite a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS and PIVOTS.
• Ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time across competing activities/resources and manage projects/processes under tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze data and problem solve.
• Must be a team player with strong work ethic.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
