Responsible for executing and managing digital strategy to maximize user engagement across multiple platforms. Ability to make independent editorial decisions on writing, producing, and showcasing news content consistent with station philosophy and brand objective. Respond quickly and effectively to breaking news across all platforms. Assign Reporters to generate updates, fresh content, video and pictures for digital platforms. Ability to multi-task, communicate and coordinate with on-air television assignment editors and producers. Must be a self-starter who can work independently to achieve digital goals. Ability to write and edit scripts and video is important. Candidate with basic video editing and graphic design experience preferred.
At least 3 to 5 years of news experience as well as experience in digital and social media. Strong writing, editorial and editing skills. Must understand newsroom operations.
Understands AP Styles
Knowledge of Social Media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
Word Press, Photoshop, Edius, Microsoft Office, Social News Desk, Tweet deck, iNews and other tools for day to day operations
