DESCRIPTION:

Searching for the right candidate to lead the strategic mission of the newsroom, while ensuring the highest levels of journalistic integrity throughout 35+ hours of weekly news and sports programming on WBZ-TV, WSBK-TV and CBSBoston.com.
• As part of senior management team, contribute to strategy planning for the television station
• Plan long term strategy for news department, ratings retention and growth.
• Provide strategic and tactical direction for day to day news coverage, breaking news, special projects, investigative reporting, special event coverage and editorial on cbsboston.com
• Lead brand vision, planning and execution for newscasts on broadcast and on our digital platforms including our OTT 24/7 local news platform CBSN Boston
• Lead Newsroom management team
• Recruit on air talent
• Negotiate personal service and union contracts
• Nurture employees through constant feedback and coaching
• Lead production efforts for all live WBZ-TV Specials and Tent Pole events
• Oversee evaluation and performance appraisal process for employees
• Develop and maintain newsroom budget, and expense management
• Ensure a balanced and ethical presentation of news in accordance with CBS policies and standards
