WBZ-TV in Boston is seeking a creative, energetic, and experienced Reporter/Multi-Skilled Journalist for TV and all digital platforms. We want someone who brings creative story ideas to the table, cultivates sources, owns social media, is passionate about local news, and can connect with our audiences. Candidates must be able to shoot and edit high-quality videos to tell appealing stories to our broadcast and streaming audiences and users on our vibrant digital platforms.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shoot, write, edit & report news stories for WBZ-TV. Will turn content, front multiple live shots, write copy for the station website and use all social media to promote their assignments.
- Perform high-energy, engaging live shots as assigned.
- Consistently develop and implement enterprise stories.
- Regularly supply news content to the station's social media and digital platforms
- Maintain an unequivocal dedication to accuracy, fairness, and ethics.
- Ensure meeting all daily production deadlines.
- Strong writing and reporting skills; proven ability to react to breaking news situations
- Skilled interviewer & creative storyteller and writer.
- Key collaborator with a team of managers.
- Other duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years reporting experience at a news organization with proven experience in the field, managing story development.
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a similar field preferred.
- Proven experience shooting and editing with small or mid-sized professional video cameras used in multi-skilled reporting.
- Knowledge of social media and how to use it to promote to broadcast, streaming and the web; experience writing for the web required.
- Knowledge of iNews rundown systems and Avid Media Composer editing preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
- Must be willing to join SAG/AFTRA Union.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $$125,000 - $130,000.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
