Producer (Los Angeles)
KCBS2/KCAL9-TV, we are looking for a dynamic storyteller who excels at crafting memorable newscasts. The nation's largest duopoly, the CBS Owned & Operated stations in Los Angeles, is looking for a Producer.
JOB FUNCTION:
Producer should have outstanding ability to excel in multi-platform news operation. Excellent writing, copy editing and showcasing of content is a must. Full understanding of how digital, social and on-air platforms intersect. Superior ability to execute impactful, memorable multi-platform content in a timely manner. A proven leader who can handle extended hours of live breaking news coverage and keep calm, focused and in control.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Newswriting, line producing
• Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content.
• Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness
• Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings
• At least five years' experience, preferably in a top 20 market
• Strong people skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Experience with Avid, I-news, and Grass Valley Group server and newsroom editing systems a plus.
Educational Requirements:
• College Degree Required or Equivalent Experience
This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the WGA
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Pay Range: $33.35 - 42.50 per hour
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement; accordingly, the hiring range is based upon the terms of that agreement. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Additional fees may be earned and paid in accordance with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the collective bargaining agreement.
